Weipeng Shi is currently a lecturer in the Department of Artificial Intelligence, School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Jiangsu Normal University. He received his Ph.D in 2024 from the School of Instrument Science And Engineering at Southeast University, advised by Prof. Wenhu Qin. Before pursuing his Ph.D degree, he worked as a research engineer in State Grid Electric Power Research Institute. Prior to this working experience, he received a Master’s degree from Hohai University, advised by Prof. Yonghui Sun. He serves as the reviewer of a series of high-quality journals, such as NPJ Climate and Atmospheric Science(Nature Partner Journals), IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics,IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics,Artificial Intelligence Review, Knowledge-Based Systems and so on.

Key Research Interests

The primary research area involves in Computer Vision as well as the application in Remote SensingUnmanned Aerial Vehicle and L2 Assisted Driving. Specifically, he has been working on the following topics:

Key Issues

UAV-based Land Cover Classification: Robust interpretation of land covers under various climatic conditions, such as fog, rain, and snow;

Adversarial Attack and Defense:Deceive and strengthen UAV perception systems;

Visual Language Models for Earth Observation: Large Language and Vision Modeling for high-quality understanding of Remote Sensing Images.
